Pool leagues not only bring in business on otherwise slower nights ,but they advertise your bar to players from around the area that typically play in other bars.  They turn occasional patrons into regulars and make your bar better known not only to local residents, but to players from all over the city, due to the FREE exposure you will receive from articles on team and tournament results.

More benefits to the bar, besides increased revenue, customer loyalty, and advertising, include a beautiful trophy plaque if your team finishes in the top three in the league and if your team finishes in first place, your bar may host the End of Season Tournament.  If your bar does not have enough tables to host the event, the tournament will be put up for bid and you will receive the money, minus the one hundred dollar fee the league charges for running the tournament.  And of course, you get the bragging rights!

The players are awarded cash prizes at the end of the season (82% of their dues are prize money).  Our League Officers are bonded to ensure the safety of the player's prize money.
As BCA sanctioned players, all members with at least eight weeks of play are eligible to play in the BCA National Eight Ball Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada.
As DPA sanctioned players, all members with at least six weeks of play will qualify for the many tournaments we run through out the year, which include Bracket Tournaments every few months, the DPA 1000 (a $1,000 added event) which is held three times a year, our DPA City Tournament, which last year had $5,000 Added to both the singles and the team event, in addition to the Money Added, End of Season Tournament held at the end of the season only for the players participating in that particular league.  We sometimes have a Tournament just because it seems like a good idea!

ALL of these Tournaments are held at participating bars within the DPA League System!

The DPA uses a fifteen-point handicap system that has been used to rate players in the Denver area successfully for several years.
The rules are BCA Ball in Hand, as we are a BCA sanctioned league.
We use a fifteen game format with five person teams, each person playing three games.  It is a mixed league with teams consisting of men, women, or a combination of both.
League play starts at 7:30 p.m., and normally finishes between 10:30 and 11:00 p.m.
Dues are $11.00 per night, per person.  $8.00 goes to the prize fund for that particular league, $1.00 goes to the prize fund for the City Tournament in the spring, and $2.00 is for operating expenses to run the league.
The number of weeks the league runs is determined by the number of teams we have in the league.  The minimum number of teams per league is six.

The DPA is proud to be a BCA sanctioned league

The amount of prize money distributed at the end of each league session can be calculated thus:
#of teams X # persons per teamX $8.00 X # of weeks played =

For example:  An 8 team league would run 14 weeks
8 teams x 5 people x $8.00 x 14 weeks = $ in the prize fund
8 x 5 x $8.00 x 14 = $4,480.00
